While LPH may be losing their heroic leader soon, this production is proof that with the belief in them, the people at this theatre are their own heroes. Like Molina, the love they have for one another, will continue to grow and create art that is fearless. Please go give your time to this incredible hardworking group!

In Black Coffee, Agatha Christie gives the audience a room full of suspects and then invites them to pay attention, to the science, to what people say, to what they avoid saying and to the objects that move through their hands. Jeffrey Bassett’s production understands that the pleasure comes from watching those pieces accumulate while Poirot remains several steps ahead of nearly everyone in the room. And with Adrian DeGroot once again slipping comfortably into Poirot’s immaculate shoes, BCT has a detective well equipped to lead the audience through the puzzle. It’s another winner from this superior combination of playwright and director.

ReAct isn’t content simply to abbreviate two classics. By relocating them to India, surrounding the stories with culturally resplendent design choices and asking the same repertory company to inhabit both worlds, WILDE! finds another way into material audiences may think they already know. Wilde’s words and ideas remain at the center, but the frame around them has changed, and in that new frame, there is still plenty worth looking at.
