Behind the Curtain - Marianna de Fazio (Actor, Accent and Presentation Coach)
Our latest episode in our Behind the Curtain series takes us both on stage and behind the scenes, with a name that has become known throughout the region for her work as an actor and also as a dialect/accent coach for some of the most memorable shows in the region over the past few years. Marianna de Fazio joins us to talk about her work in the world of dialects, how she was introduced to the field, her first big break (thanks to a past guest of the show!), and how her process works for working with actors to help them develop their characters. Her work can be seen next in the Circle of Fire Theatre production of Blithe Spirit, opening at Second Story Rep on February 21.
We also discussed Marianna's upcoming show on stage, Sarah Ruhl's Letters from Max, at Seattle Public Theatre from February 28 through March 23. It takes a lot to balance acting, coaching for shows, and doing individual accent and presentation coaching, which we also talked about with her, and thankfully for all of us in the region, she's been able to do it so well, allowing us all to enjoy her work both in front of the curtain and behind it.
