Behind the Curtain - Outside Mullingar (Bainbridge Performing Arts)
Bainbridge Performing Arts is coming off its first season back, after going through a major renovation and remodel of its Buxton Center for the Performing Arts. After an extremely successful opening season back the organization is taking its next major step in providing cutting edge and unique theatre experiences for the Bainbridge Island and surrounding community through its Studio Series, a lineup of intimate, dramatic performances set in their smaller Cynthia Sears Studio. The inaugural program in this series is the John Patrick Shanley play Outside Mullingar, featuring a cast of four (Molly Hall, Jason Gingold, Bill Johns, and Judith Shahn) and directed by Cindy Giese French. The play is presented by BPA in partnership with Molly and Jason's Circle of Fire Theatre.
Molly and Jason sat down with us in our latest episode in our Behind the Curtain series to talk about the play, how it came to their attention and eventually ended up coming to the stage in this new series at BPA, their own Circle of Life Theatre, what the role of small theatre organizations are in the post-Covid theatre landscape, and what it's like to work on stage with family. We hope you enjoy listening to our conversation as much as we enjoyed chatting with them. For more information on
