Between the Pages - Alan Harrison (Scene Change)

We go "Between the Pages" with Alan Harrison, author of "Scene Change: Why Today’s Nonprofit Arts Organizations Have to Stop Producing Art and Start Producing Impact", which releases today, February 1, 2024.

Alan is and has been a father, writer, stage and film actor, nonprofit executive, cabaret piano player, composer, playwright, singer, columnist, critic, voice actor, association executive, and an arts-related board president (in no particular order). For the past 30 years, he has led, produced, directed, promoted, raised money for, succeeded and failed in over 300 theatrical productions on and off Broadway and at prestigious (and not-so-prestigious) nonprofit arts organizations across the United States. Among those organizations were Lincoln Center Theater, the Los Angeles Theatre Center, The Pasadena Playhouse, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Seattle Repertory Theatre, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and ArtsWest. He has a terrific son, Danny Harrison, and a partner in crime, Donna Oslin, who keep him in check...and stitches. He’s also a two-time Jeopardy! champion so, you know, there’s that.

In "Scene Change", Alan takes a unique and sometimes controversial approach to nonprofits, their role in the and for the community, and what they and their boards need to do to be ultimately successful. It's a must read for patrons, board members, and arts executives and is available now wherever books are sold.
