Behind the Curtain - Cabaret (Harlequin Productions) - Karin Terry

There may not be a more timely, or timeless for that matter, making its rounds in the community and regional theatre circuit than Cabaret. Yes, it's set in the Germany of the 1930s, but many of its themes of racial profiling, fear, hatred, and "othering" are perhaps more valid today than they were even then. In this episode, we go Behind the Curtain with the talented and versatile Karin Terry, fresh from dual roles of Benvolio and Paris in Seattle Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Betty Schaefer in the Showtunes production of Sunset Boulevard.

Karin plays Sally Bowles, one of the leads in the latest production of Cabaret, presented by Harlequin Productions and on stage at the State Theatre in Olympia from June 28 through July 28. Karin chatted with us about this upcoming production, preparation for it, past roles, including the inD Theatre production of Hay Fever from two seasons ago. We also talked about Karin's work as a performer with The Memphis Belles, the all-female 1940s style vocal group.
