Actorcraft Page, Stage, and Screen (P2S)
Over on the Kitsap Peninsula, there is no shortage of community theatre, and extend that over the bridge to Tacoma and there is a lot to choose from, but there has always been a vacuum between the bridge and Bremerton, a gap that has been made more gaping over the past few years. There's also been a lack of places for aspiring actors, or even those with experience, to go on the "other" side of the water from Seattle to hone their craft or to follow their curiosity, a place to learn about acting for both the stage and screen. That's where Actorcraft P2S (Page, Stage, and Screen) comes in. Actorcraft's Founder/Managing Director Jeremy Kent Jackson and Director of Special Programs Adrianne Alvarez-Jackson sat down with us in the latest episode in our Get to Know a Theatre series to talk about their relatively new and truly unique venture.
Both Jeremy and Adrianne come with extensive resumes, built largely in and around Los Angeles and on both the stage and screen. Many will recognize Jeremy from his role on Disney Channel's Lab Rats, but he brings much more than that to the table, and Adrianne's background in education is excellent. The pair discuss their backgrounds, what brought them to Gig Harbor and how/why they started Actorcraft, what their goals and mission are, and what they see in their studio's future, as well as Jeremy's ongoing work with the Gig Harbor Film Festival. We also talked a bit about their first fully produced stage production, Mauritius, which just closed a few weeks back. Actorcraft P2S fills a definite need in the area, and with the background and pedigree of their staff and their educational philosophy, we invite you to check them out!
