Reboot Theatre (Jasmine Joshua)
In our first episode of Get to Know a Theatre for 2025, we're celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Reboot Theatre with Founding Artistic Director Jasmine Joshua. Having produced 11 shows in that period, the company has held fast to their mission, "test(ing) new interpretations of established works through nontraditional casting, design, and methods yet to be discovered", and they have no intention of stopping anytime soon, with their production of Oliver opening at the Theatre Off Jackson on March 21 and Anything Goes in November, We discussed the mission, how it informs Jasmine's programming, and what they are doing to celebrate their 10th anniversary, including their special fundraiser. We also chatted a bit about the challenges that the arts community is facing with the recent executive orders and other actions coming out of Washington that impact all of us, and what we can all do to support each other to meet these challenges head on.
