Behind the Curtain - A Raisin in the Sun (Taproot Theatre)
A Raisin in the Sun opened this past Friday at Taproot Theatre's Jewell Mainstage, running through April 19, and kicking off their 49th mainstage season, with an overarching theme of "Timed Exposure", curated with shows that provide hope for the future by learning from the experiences of the past. The show's director, and Taproot's Associate Artistic Director, Bretteney Beverly returns to go Behind the Curtain and talk about scheduling the show around the theatre's renovations and last season's fundraising campaign, how she assembled a mighty cast that includes some of Seattle's best and most well known actors, and how she collaborated with the creative team at Taproot to put together a show that is "impeccably acted, skillfully designed, and so full of emotion that audiences will leave full in their hearts and their souls as a result of having experienced (it)".
