Behind the Curtain - Doubt: A Parable (SecondStory Rep)
The next show on the docket at SecondStory Rep in Redmond is John Patrick Shanley's Doubt: A Parable. Set in the 1960s, at a Catholic school in the Bronx, Doubt's story of a power struggle between the school principal and its resident young priest is also one that looks at the idea of suspicion without proof, how that suspicion drives our behavior, and how, when you add faith into the mix, it makes it even more complicated. This study in morality is directed by Doug Knoop, who joins us as we go Behind the Curtain on Doubt: A Parable.
Doug spoke with us about what drew him to the play, what it is like constructing a play like this at SecondStory Rep, working with dual casts, and what the audience can expect from this version of the play. We also permeated on Doug's dream play as a director and where we could see it working in the Seattle area. Join us for this discussion with one of the regions very talented directors as he prepares for the run of Doubt, opening on March 28 and running through April 13.
