Port Gamble Theater (Scott Snively)

Port Gamble is a hidden treasure in North Kitsap County, a town that the National Park Service has dubbed "the finest example of a nineteenth century Pacific Coast logging community". In fact, much of the town, a large part of it noted as a National Historic Landmark, is still owned by the local logging mill. Known for its historic architecture, haunted house, and ghost tours, a keystone to the town is the Port Gamble Community Center, built in 1906, and full of its own history. One of the current residents of the building is the Port Gamble Theater. In our latest episode of Get to Know a Theatre, we sit down with Scott Snively, Artistic Director.

Scott talks to us about the history of the theater company, as well as the building itself, including some of its own ghost stories. We also discuss Scott's philosophy of programming, their upcoming production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and where he is with planning their 2025 season (Port Gamble runs their seasons on the calendar year).
